If you are a collector of the unusual, a seeker of the esoteric, a researcher of fringe histories, or someone who simply appreciates the physical beauty of a rare, out-of-print text, you have found your home.
But to understand what this site is, you first have to understand where these books came from.
🐓 The Origin: 20 Vintage Waxed Chicken Boxes
Thirty years ago, Denny, a dedicated book collector and truth-seeker, carefully packed away twenty large, waxed-cardboard chicken boxes. Inside them, he organized a lifetime of curation: deep philosophy, obscure spiritual texts, 1930s alternative histories, early Jacques Vallée UFO paperbacks, and a staggering amount of pre-internet, West Coast mail-order conspiracy literature.
"Then, those boxes went into an attic. For three decades, they sat undisturbed, perfectly preserved in the dark. No moisture, no sunlight, no modern wear."
When we inherited this collection and cracked open the first waxed carton, we realized we weren’t just looking at old paper. We were looking at a pristine, unedited time capsule of 20th-century counterculture.
📜 What You Will Find in the Archive
As we systematically bring these boxes down from the attic, we'll be cataloging the forgotten treasures and offering the collection for sale. This isn’t a warehouse storefront. This is a finite, limited-edition pop-up archive straight out of the chicken boxes.
Every single item has a story. Many of these books carry vintage bookmarks from legendary, long-lost independent bookstores like Perelandra Books in Eugene, Oregon. Others still contain their original, unblemished mail-order inserts, original pink order forms, and handwritten clippings.
Along with individual rare and obscure books, we will be releasing these treasures in thematic batches, which we are calling "The Chicken Box Drop." You can expect to find:
